“EL VIAJE DE CARLA" REPRESENTARÁ A ESPAÑA EN EL KASHISH, FESTIVAL DE CINE LGTB DE MUMBAI

“El viaje de Carla”, documental basado en la vida de la activista transexual y diputada Carla Antonelli, representará a España en la sección oficial a concurso del KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival 2015, que se desarrollará en Mumbai/Bombay (India) del 27 al 31 de mayo.

El documental dirigido por Fernando Olmeda se proyectará el sábado 30 de mayo a las 10:15 (hora local) en el Goethe Institut. KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival 2015 es el festival de cine LGTBI más importante de Asia.

La película ha sido seleccionada para competir en la sección oficial junto a los trabajos “Do I sound gay”, de David Thorpe (EEUU), “Las Ventanas Abiertas”, de Michèle Massé (Francia-España), “Out in the line up”, de Ian W Thomson (Australia) y “Deux hommes et un couffin”, de Florence Helleux y Smaïn Belhadj (Francia).

“Estoy orgulloso de que nos hayan elegido, porque se hacen muchas películas y documentales en el mundo a lo largo de un año, y estar en una selección de cinco es un éxito”, ha dicho Fernando Olmeda; “además, es una buena oportunidad para dar a conocer el documental a nivel internacional en un país como India, con una cultura tan diferente a la nuestra”.

"El viaje de Carla" ha participado en diferentes festivales LGTBI y de derechos humanos y ha conquistado los premios del público en LesGaiCineMad, AndaLesGai y Can[Be]Gay. A lo largo de 2015 seguirá proyectándose en varias localidades españolas y en festivales organizados en países como México, Perú, Panamá, Ecuador y Chile, entre otros.

“CARLA'S JOURNEY" WILL REPRESENT SPAIN IN THE KASHISH MUMBAI INTERNATIONAL QUEER FILM FESTIVAL

"Carla's journey", documentary based on the life of spanish transgender activist and deputy Carla Antonelli, will represent Spain in the official competition section of the KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, to be held in Mumbai (India) from 27 to 31 May.

The documentary directed by Fernando Olmeda will be screened on Saturday, May 30 at 10:15 (local time) at the Goethe Institut. KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival 2015 is the South Asia's biggest queer film Festival.

The film has been selected to compete in the official section with "Do I sound gay" (David Thorpe, USA), "The Open Windows"/Las ventanas abiertas (Michèle Massé, France-Spain), "Out in the line up" (Ian W Thomson, Australia) and "Deux hommes et un couffin", Florence Helleux and Smaïn Belhadj (France).

"I am proud that we have been selected, because many films and documentaries are made in the world throughout a year, and being in a choice of five is a success", said Fernando Olmeda; "also is a good opportunity to publicize the film internationally in a country like India, with such a different culture to ours".

"The journey of Carla" has participated in various LGBTI and human rights festivals, and has won the LesGaiCineMad, AndaLesGai and Can[Be]Gay Audience Awards. Throughout 2015 it will continue screening in several cities of Spain and festivals organized in countries like Mexico, Peru, Panama, Ecuador and Chile, among others.
